There are situations in which your therapist can break confidentiality:
- With written consent by the client for information to be shared.
- Where the therapist is compelled by a court of law.
- Where the therapist considers the client or others to be in imminent danger.
Note: I will always attempt to speak to you before breaking confidentiality.
Supervision
I am required to have regular supervision sessions where I discuss aspects of my work. I never reveal client’s identities during these sessions and supervision itself is confidential between myself and my supervisor.
Record keeping
Notes taken during and forms are kept in a locked cabinet and in password protected documents on my computer in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act. Please refer to the privacy notice for more detail on how I manage your personal information, and your individual rights.
Therapy Sessions, Times and Cancellations
Therapy sessions typically take 60 minutes however sometimes clients need more time to talk. Occasionally hypnosis can take longer than 40 minutes when clients need more time however it is unusual for hypnosis to take longer than an hour. After the first 60 minutes, clients are expected to pay £2 per minute until they leave. If a session is cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the session, full payment is required.
Please arrive at the time your appointment is scheduled because it may disturb another client’s hypnosis if you arrive early. If you are late for a session, fees are payable from the time that your session is scheduled to start until you leave.
Therapy can be an active process and may involve learning skills to handle difficult thoughts and feelings as well as taking action to solve your difficulties. When new skills are introduced, practicing them between sessions is important. It is advisable that you listen to the hypnosis recordings on a regular basis, in a place that would be safe and appropriate for you to fall asleep.
Fees and Payments
After your first appointment, you will be required to pay one session in advance in order to secure an appointment. This means you can either bring payment with you for the following session or otherwise transfer money to pay for the next session. Fees need to be received the day that the session is requested, not the day that the session takes place.
